Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner Diploma Course Syllabus

 

This course is a 100 hour training course in Thai Yoga Massage to professional/practitioner level

Run over 10 days, spread over 4 weekends (2 x Fri – Sun and 2 x Sat/Sun) over a 4 month period. This is then followed by a 6 month practice and consolidation period before having a final assessment of your practice.

  • Fri 8th, Sat 9th, Sun 10th March 2024
  • Fri 19th, Sat 20th, Sun 21st April  2024
  • Sat 8th, Sun 9th June 2024
  • Sat 6th, Sun 7th July 2024

Fridays 10.30am – 4.30pm. Saturdays and Sundays 9.45am – 4.30pm. The Little Therapy Centre, High Street, Olney, Bucks

 

Content covered:

  • History of Thai Massage
  • Energy theory of the Sen lines of Thai Massage
  • The art of touch
  • Therapeutic applications of Thai massage
  • Working with injuries and conditions in Thai massage
  • Practitioner self-care
  • Thai massage techniques: Thumbing, Double thumbing, Palming, hacking, pressure point, application with hands, forearms, elbows, knees and feet
  • Thai massage techniques to be able to use to deliver a variety of 90min to 2 hour treatments. This includes different body parts and base positions: Feet, single leg, double leg, stomach/chest/arms, face and neck, back of body, side lying and seated positions.
  • Professionalism and ethics

Each day contains some lecture/discussion, demonstration of techniques and practice of techniques in pairs or 3’s.  Students will be expected to practice the learning in between training weekends.

Supervision and feedback is given throughout  the training sessions. Run over small groups to ensure lots of personal attention and feedback. Course minimum 4 people, course maximum 8 people.

**If you want to receive practitioner/professional certification the following applies:

After the training days you need to complete and record  25 x 90 minute case study treatments with a minimum of 5 different clients.

There will be an assessment day around 6 -7 months after the final training day where you will be observed giving a 90 – 120min treatment.

You may need an additional Level 3 A&P course for insurance. We can recommend providers. This is not included in the cost. Yoga Teachers, Massage Therapists, Pilates teachers etc will in most cases not require this.
